Handmade Furniture from J & S Reclaimed Wood

“When we say handmade we really mean it,” says Steve McFarlane, co-owner of J&S Reclaimed Wood , Custom Furniture & Interiors. “We use old fashioned tools and techniques to achieve the look of our furniture,” he adds. “Every piece is unique, as all of the wood has its own individual character & history.”

From old growth Douglas-Fir, this barn door dates back to 1905 from Chilliwack B,C. and was originally the roof strapping.

McFarlane and Joshua Hooge formed their own bespoke furniture company 5 years ago in South Vancouver, and haven’t looked back. Using old growth pine and other hard and soft woods reclaimed from heritage building demolitions, old barns, industrial building tear-downs, unwanted pallets, and fallen logs – the brand has taken salvaged and repurposed wood to a new, and beautifully designed level.

Each piece from J & S that we carry at Suquet Interiors comes with a certificate of authenticity.  The brands’ eco-friendly finishes are made here in Canada, and protect your table from wine and coffee spills, that often result in staining. Plus, “nothing is outsourced, we even do all of the metal work in house,” says McFarlane.
